WHAT IS TREE SUGERY?
Simply put, tree surgery is the practice of managing trees, shrubs and hedges. This is essential to ensure that they are kept in an orderly, safe and healthy condition. If they are not properly cared for or if the nature is left to own devices, trees and shrubs can get out of control and have the potential to become unhealthy or hazardous to their environment.
As experienced, professional and leading tree surgeons, we will to come and assess your situation before deciding on the course of action most suited for your tree. In many cases, a simple solution is that the tree requires pruning to make it safer to be around, but unfortunately in some cases, the tree will need to be felled.
WHY CHOOSE MAJESTIC TREE LTD?
Over the many years of caring for trees, shrubs, and hedges, for both domestic and commercial customers, Majestic Tree Care has built up an unbeatable reputation. All our Tree Surgeons are fully trained, fully qualified and have vast experience and knowledge in a variety of different pruning and felling methods:
Crown thinning – smaller branches are removed to thin the crown, reduce the weight and wind resistance of the tree and allowing extra light to pass through it
Crown lifting – lower branches are carefully removed to increase the amount of light passing through the tree
Crown deadwooding – branches naturally die off for many reasons, but take a while to decay, so removing the branches early keeps the tree safe
Crown reductions – the height of the tree is reduced to decrease shading and loss of light, making the tree more suited to its immediate environment
Directional felling – a wedge is removed from the bottom of the tree, bringing it down safely in one piece
Sectional dismantling – where space is restricted, the tree is carefully dismantled and brought down piece by piece
Our highly skilled team of tree surgeons are able to offer a range of tree services …
Stump grinding removes the base of the tree and some of its roots after it has been felled. There are many benefits for removing a stump, and we are able to carry out this task with our own specialist portable equipment, which allows us access to the smallest of spaces and can remove stumps of any size.
The major benefit of stump removal is that it helps lower the risk of pathogens and disease, which may have been growing on the tree, being spreading to other trees and plants in the immediate area.
This is the removal of the tree to ground level. It can either be carried out from the ground if space permits or by means of dismantling the tree into smaller pieces by rope and harness.
Some operations require specialist equipment for lowering sections to the ground by means of rigging equipment. Cranes and mobile elevated work platforms can be used as well. Felling does not include stump removal.
Regular Tree Inspections
Routine inspections should be carried out frequently enough to detect any hazards that may have recently developed. Hazards from large old trees sometimes develop quite rapidly, for which reason an inspection frequency of one year or more is generally advisable where such trees occur on high-usage sites.
Inspections should also be made immediately after any exceptionally severe weather event that might have caused damage to trees.
Properly pruned trees will remain healthier and live longer than neglected trees. The Pruning of trees is the most important tree maintenance practice you can do to help your tree remain healthy and strong. Pruning is important in order to maintain tree health.
Our tree care specialists can help your trees develop a strong trunk and branch structure by eliminating potential defects whilst the tree is still young. The older the tree ths more difficult and expensive this work is. Therefore it is important to have trees maintained throughout their life.
Crown reduction pruning is most often used when a tree has grown too large for its permitted space. This method, sometimes called drop crotch pruning, is preferred to topping because it results in a more natural appearance, and increases the time before pruning is needed again and minimizes stress to the tree.
Crown reduction pruning should only be used as a method of last resort. This pruning technique often results in large pruning wounds to stems that may lead to decay. This method should never be used on a tree with a pyramidal growth form. Often a better long term solution is to remove the tree and replace it with a tree that will not grow beyond the available space.
This is a method of treating a tree so that the tree has a large trunk and very small branches. The trees need to be maintained every year. If a tree is not looked after then this process can kill the tree.
All of our tree surgeons are fully qualified in all aspects of tree surgery. We can complete the removal of trees without damage to the surrounding areas and are fully equipped to tackle the felling of trees that may be situated in awkward locations.
