There may be occasions when a tree needs to be removed (felled) for safety reasons or to help reduce overcrowding in wooded areas. Safety reasons may include removal needed due to infection, rot, or if the tree is leaning dangerously near to cables, highways or rail tracks.
Tree removal is a broad term that includes many of the more specific tree maintenance services that we provide. Tree felling is one of those services and can be a safety concern if done incorrectly, it’s something that should always be done by certified professionals (like us!).
Tree Felling Management
There are many factors that affect tree felling, one of the main aspects is whether there are major obstacles in the area (overhead lines, roads, buildings) and if the area is accessible to the public. Our felling management takes into consideration the plants and animals that live in the locality of the tree(s) to be felled to ensure as least disruption as possible.
Tree felling done by Majestic Tree Services ensures that our professional staff members will be able to protect the trees surrounding. If the tree were to fall in an unplanned direction, it could cause damage to other trees, as well as your home and surrounding structures.
We will visit your property to evaluate the area and trees that need felling to ensure a safe and efficient removal. Our professional tree surgeons will then arrange a convenient time to come and remove your unwanted tree. Work is carried out felling the tree either from the base or by sectioning it, dependant on the size and area of your garden.
Types of Tree Felling
With or without the additional use of a pulling rope or winches, the tree is felled to the ground in one piece. Using a few directional cuts into the base of the tree, notches are used in order to control the direction of the felling.
Common for jobs where the tree is directly above houses, conservatories or sheds. Our skilled team members will climb the tree and cut it down in sections.
Why Choose Majestic Tree Services
Over the many years of caring for trees, shrubs, and hedges, for both domestic and commercial customers, Majestic Tree Care has built up an unbeatable reputation. All our Tree Surgeons are fully trained, fully qualified and have vast experience and knowledge in a variety of different pruning and felling methods:
Crown thinning – Small branches are removed to thin the crown, reducing the weight & wind resistance of the tree
Crown lifting – Lower branches are carefully removed to increase the amount of light passing through the tree
Crown deadwooding – Branches may naturally die off but can take a while to decay, removing the branches early keeps the tree safe
Crown reductions – The height of the tree is reduced to decrease shading & loss of light, making the tree more suited to its environment
Directional felling – A wedge is removed from the bottom of the tree, bringing it down safely in one piece
Sectional dismantling – Where space is restricted, the tree is carefully dismantled and brought down piece by piece
